For the second year, Network World has published its "Enterprise All-Star" issue. This highly anticipated and widely-read issue by the leading Network IT industry publication recognizes 40 outstanding projects and the companies who implemented them. Each project is chosen for the way it advances the use of new technology or uses mainstream tools in a ground-breaking way to further business interests. UB Health Sciences was one of 12 organizations, including Credit Suisse and Prudential Financial, to win for innovative and effective use of security technology.

Start-up to Watch Award Winner: Elemental Security
Elemental was distinguished as a "2006 Start-up To Watch" Award winner by Network World in its 2006 "NW200 Issue." This annual publication analyzes the industry's changing dynamics over the past 12 months, and ranks the top 200 enterprises. The issue also highlights 10 Start-ups to Watch, identified for their cool technologies and growing business opportunities. Elemental was handpicked by Network World editors out of about 100 candidates, due to the strength of its technology unifying compliance requirements and system security.

InfoWorld Test Center Excellent Award, Top 9.3 Review Rating
Elemental earned the top Excellent Rating award from the InfoWorld Test Center. The Elemental Security Platform v2.0 earned a 9.3 average score out of a possible 10, the highest rating given to a product by InfoWorld to date in 2006. According to InfoWorld, a rating of "Excellent" recognizes products that receive a score of 8.7 or higher based on a list of criteria most relevant to enterprise buying decisions. Receiving an "Excellent" rating assures IT professionals of a product's quality and market readiness before they make a purchase.

Gartner, Inc. Cool Vendors in Security and Privacy
Elemental was included in the list of "Cool Vendors" in the "Cool Vendors in Security and Privacy, 2006" report (Amrit T. Williams, et al., March 11, 2006) report by Gartner, Inc. Gartner defines a cool vendor as a company that offers technologies or solutions that are: Innovative, enable users to do things they couldn't do before; Impactful, have, or will have, business impact (not just technology for the sake of technology); Intriguing, have caught Gartner's interest or curiosity in approximately the past six months.

2006 Security Tools Category Winner: Elemental
Elemental won CMP Media's 2006 Jolt Product Excellence Award in the Security Tools category, as the top security product evaluated in the annual competition. Hosted by Software Development magazine, the Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards program pays tribute to products that have "jolted" the industry by helping to create faster, easier and more efficient software. The announcement was made at The Jolt Awards ceremony, held at the SD West 2006 Conference & Exposition.

"Most Innovative Company" Winner: Elemental Security
Elemental was named the "Most Innovative" company at the RSA Conference 2006. Elemental was selected as a finalist out of 40 of the information security industry's up-and-coming companies to compete at RSA's Innovation Station program, and beat out 11 other finalists for the conference's top innovation award. Now in its 15th year, the RSA Conference is the world's leading information security conference and exposition group. The purpose of the Innovation Station Program is to recognize the emerging companies which are poised to make a mark in the information security industry.

Elemental was honored by being named one of "Ten Private Security Companies to Watch in 2006" by Red Herring magazine, as published in the Feb. 6 issue of Red Herring. The Elemental Compliance System won the coveted 2006 Product of the Year Award. Information Security magazine and SearchSecurity.com editors asked 890 information security executives and managers to assess the products they currently deploy. Based on their cumulative responses, Elemental's product earned the Gold Award as the top product in the Emerging Technology category due to its rating in criteria such as overall quality, performance, features, security, documentation, and support.

Guido van Rossum's and Python Software Foundation's Python Put in Plain Language
Elemental's Language Architect Guido van Rossum and the Python Software Foundation won a Horizon Award for their work on the Python computer programming language. Computerworld's Horizon awards inform readers of the most cutting-edge technologies that are "on the horizon" from research labs and private companies. The use of Python in its custom policy language distinguishes Elemental, and allows customers to quickly add new or customized policies and easily deploy them across various platforms in the enterprise.
