Elemental Security this week updated its flagship policy management software with capabilities the company says will safeguard customers against security breaches as well as prepare them for regulatory audits.
Elemental Security Platform (ESP) 2.0 combines network monitoring and access control capabilities with policy-based management. With this version, generally available this week, Elemental Security added templates to its policy library for regulatory initiatives such as HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley. This updated release also adds agent support for Unix systems such as AIX and HP-UX as well as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.
Industry watchers have long argued that security and management should work hand-in-hand in enterprise shops, and Elemental Security "goes above and beyond," according to Dave Kearns. Recognizing the company as a category breaking technology provider in Network World's The Best Products Issue, Kearns describes how the software's traffic monitoring and anomaly detection software can help network managers more quickly prevent security breaches from impacting customers and better understand how actions taken affect compliance.
