Elemental Security and Security Compliance
The Elemental Security Platform (ESP) is an example of security information technology (specifically, security compliance software). The ESP continually monitors computers on a network for security compliance. Optionally, the system can be configured to enforce compliance with certain policies.

Security Compliance Defined
Security compliance software and security information technology provide network administrators with a means of expressing their organization's computer network security policies in a way that can be automatically deployed to individual computers, which are then monitored for compliance.
Security Compliance Prevalence
Security compliance software and security information technology represent the first line of defense in protecting an organization's intellectual property and in the effort to maintain a record of security compliance that demonstrates a good-faith effort to abide by applicable laws and regulations.
